AMBER from the time of Dinosaurs
New Jersey has yielded the oldest amber in the New World with insect
inclusions.
This amber is from the upper Cretaceous period and is
approximately 92 million years old. New Jersey amber is the oldest amber with insects from the New World.
The country of Myanmar (formerly Burma) also yields amber from the
cretaceous. The age of this amber is approximately 100 million years old.
The ancient Chinese used this amber to create beautiful carvings.
